The Vans Sk8-Hi debuted in 1978 as the Style #38, the first Vans high-top, adding a padded ankle collar and the brand's jagged Sidestripe over the vulcanized waffle outsole Vans has built in Anaheim, California since 1966. Supreme's Spring/Summer 2019 version was made on the Sk8-Hi Pro, the skate-reinforced build with a Duracap rubber underlay and UltraCush sockliner, and wrapped the upper in an embossed diamond-plate print referencing industrial steel grating, across six co-branded colorways. Vans has since retired the Pro line; the standard Sk8-Hi, in canvas and suede, is the current production version. Supreme priced it at $110 against $75 for a standard Sk8-Hi.
About Vans
Vans is an American footwear company founded on March 16, 1966, by Paul Van Doren, his brother James, Gordon Lee, and Serge D'Elia in Anaheim, California, originally trading as the Van Doren Rubber Company.
