About the original
The Vans Half Cab is the mid-top skate shoe Vans built with Steve Caballero in 1992, cut down from his Caballero high-top after skaters kept sawing the ankles off their pairs for better board feel. It has a suede-and-canvas upper, a padded collar, and the vulcanized waffle outsole Vans has produced in Southern California since 1966. This Spring/Summer 2026 version sets Mike Kelley's "Memory Ware" print — the American artist's dense collages of buttons, beads, and trinkets — into the side panels and heel of a black suede upper, licensed through the Mike Kelley Foundation. About Vans
