About the original
The Vans Old Skool is the low-top skate shoe that introduced the brand's signature sidestripe in 1977, when Vans catalogued it as the "Style 36." Vans, founded in Anaheim, California in 1966, first added the leather-and-suede stripe — drawn freehand by co-founder Paul Van Doren — on this model, over a padded collar and the waffle rubber outsole. Supreme's Spring/Summer 2011 Old Skool, dropped March 17, 2011, swapped the standard upper for a combination of suede and mesh across six colorways for a lighter, more breathable build. The sidestripe, collar, and waffle sole are unchanged from the original Old Skool you can still buy today.
About Vans
