About the original

The Beoplay A2 is a Bluetooth 4.0 portable speaker built around an extruded aluminum core, with two 3-inch woofers, two 3-inch passive bass radiators, and two 0.75-inch tweeters driven in a True360 omnidirectional configuration. It measures 10.1 x 5.6 x 1.7 inches, weighs 2.4 pounds, and runs 24 hours on a single charge. Bang & Olufsen was founded in 1925 in Struer, Denmark by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen; the A2 was designed by Cecilie Manz and launched in 2014. The FW16 Supreme collaboration rendered the Supreme wordmark through the grille perforations on a red aluminum body, and retailed for $460. The standard Beoplay A2 retailed for $399 at launch and remains available through Amazon and B&O's direct channels.

About Bang & Olufsen

The company began in the attic of the Olufsen family manor and shipped its first product, the B&O Eliminator mains-powered radio, in 1927. B&O has built its reputation on aluminum-bodied, designer-led audio products including the Beoplay P2 portable speaker and the IP67-rated Beosound Explore, designed by Cecilie Manz. The company manufactures aluminum components at its own Struer factory. Supreme collaborated with B&O on the Beoplay P2 wireless speaker in 2017 and two iterations of the Beosound Explore in 2022.
