About the original
The Beoplay A2 is a Bluetooth 4.0 portable speaker built around an extruded aluminum core, with two 3-inch woofers, two 3-inch passive bass radiators, and two 0.75-inch tweeters driven in a True360 omnidirectional configuration. It measures 10.1 x 5.6 x 1.7 inches, weighs 2.4 pounds, and runs 24 hours on a single charge. Bang & Olufsen was founded in 1925 in Struer, Denmark by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen; the A2 was designed by Cecilie Manz and launched in 2014. The FW16 Supreme collaboration rendered the Supreme wordmark through the grille perforations on a red aluminum body, and retailed for $460. The standard Beoplay A2 retailed for $399 at launch and remains available through Amazon and B&O's direct channels.
About Bang & Olufsen
Bang & Olufsen is a Danish consumer electronics company founded on November 17, 1925 by Peter Bang and Svend Olufsen in Struer, Jutland. The company began in the attic of the Olufsen family manor and shipped its first product, the B&O Eliminator mains-powered radio, in 1927. B&O has built its reputation on aluminum-bodied, designer-led audio products including the Beoplay P2 portable speaker and the IP67-rated Beosound Explore, designed by Cecilie Manz.
