BBS Motorsport was founded in 1970 in Schiltach, Germany by Heinrich Baumgartner and Klaus Brand, and supplies forged three-piece wheels to Formula 1, IndyCar, DTM, and OEM programs including Porsche, BMW M, and Audi RS. The company name comes from the founders' initials plus their hometown of Schiltach. The RS, introduced in 1983, is the brand's split-spoke three-piece forged wheel and remains in production after more than four decades, with the centerpiece, outer barrel, and inner barrel bolted together.
