About the original
The Black Diamond Storm 400 is an IP67-rated waterproof headlamp that emits 400 lumens from one QuadPower LED and one DoublePower white LED, with additional red, green, and blue SinglePower LEDs for night-vision modes. Rated for submersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, it runs on four AAA batteries and uses the brand's PowerTap technology for instant max brightness. Black Diamond Equipment was founded in 1989 when employees bought out Yvon Chouinard's climbing hardware business, Chouinard Equipment, and relocated it to Salt Lake City, Utah.
