Storm 400 Headlamp
About the original
The Black Diamond Storm 400 is an IP67-rated waterproof headlamp that emits 400 lumens from one QuadPower LED and one DoublePower white LED, with additional red, green, and blue SinglePower LEDs for night-vision modes. Rated for submersion in one meter of water for up to 30 minutes, it runs on four AAA batteries and uses the brand's PowerTap technology for instant max brightness. Black Diamond Equipment was founded in 1989 when employees bought out Yvon Chouinard's climbing hardware business, Chouinard Equipment, and relocated it to Salt Lake City, Utah. The Supreme version uses the same headlamp with a printed logo strap.
About Black Diamond
Black Diamond is an American climbing and skiing equipment manufacturer founded on December 1, 1989, in Salt Lake City, Utah, by Peter Metcalf, Maria Cranor, and former employees of Yvon Chouinard's Chouinard Equipment after that company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The company inherited the Stoppers and Hexentric chock patents and built a line covering harnesses, carabiners, ice axes, crampons, headlamps, ski poles, and tents. The headquarters and manufacturing facility sits at the base of the Wasatch range. Clarus Corporation has owned Black Diamond Equipment since 2010. Supreme has collaborated with Black Diamond on co-branded carabiners and outdoor accessories.
