About the original

The CW&T Pen Type C is a flat, rectangular bookmark pen precision-machined from grade 5 titanium with a glass bead blast finish. CW&T (Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy) is a Brooklyn design studio founded in 2009; they launched the original Pen Type-A on Kickstarter in 2013 and the Type-C followed in 2019. The body is thin enough to sit flat inside a notebook and the bent spring-steel clip folds over the tip to protect the refill when stowed. It accepts Pilot's Hi-Tec-C Coleto ink cartridge, available in 15 colors and multiple nib widths. The Supreme SS25 version uses the same titanium body in four colorways and costs $98; the standard titanium Pen Type-C from CW&T retails for $80.

About CW&T

CW&T is an American art and design studio founded in 2009 by Che-Wei Wang and Taylor Levy in Brooklyn, New York. The two met at NYU's Interactive Telecommunications Program, bringing backgrounds in architecture, film, and computer science. The studio designs objects engineered to outlast their owners, including the Pen Type-A and Pen Type-C machined steel pens, the Time Since Launch single-use 100-year timer, and the Solid State Watch. CW&T received the 2022 National Design Award for Product Design from Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum. Wang and Levy run the studio out of a single Brooklyn space that doubles as their prototyping shop. Supreme has collaborated with CW&T on a co-branded pen.
