About the original

The Frette Icon Slipper is a velvet house slipper with the embroidered Frette emblem on the vamp, a padded footbed, and a genuine leather sole, handmade in Italy. Founded in 1860 in Intra on Lake Maggiore, Frette is one of the oldest Italian linen houses and has supplied sheets, robes, and loungewear to hotels including The Ritz-Carlton, The Savoy, the Vatican, and the Orient Express, as well as to the Italian royal family. The SS19 Supreme version uses the same Italian-made slipper with a co-branded Supreme emblem. At $68 retail against Frette's standalone $280 price, this is one of the few collabs where the box-logo version cost less than the original.

About Frette

Frette is an Italian linen manufacturer founded on December 1, 1860 by Edmond Frette, Alexandre Payre, and Charles Chaboud in Grenoble, France, before relocating production to Monza, Italy in the early 1860s. The company has supplied the Italian royal family since 1881, the Vatican, the Orient Express, the Titanic, and over 500 European royal households. Frette operates Jacquard mills in Concorezzo and a flagship store on Via Manzoni in Milan that has run since 1878. Sheets are woven from Egyptian cotton and finished by hand. Supreme has collaborated with Frette on co-branded sheet sets and home textiles.
