About the original
The Freund Victoria Forged Hedge Shears are a traditional two-handed garden shear with drop-forged, hard-chrome-plated, self-sharpening beveled blades, a heavy-duty brass-bushed pivot bolt, and solid hardwood handles mounted on forged steel sockets. The blade geometry pulls material toward the pivot for clean cuts on branches up to roughly 20mm thick. Freund Victoria has manufactured garden and agricultural hand tools in Württemberg, Germany since 1860, and the forged hedge shear is the company's oldest and signature product line. The SS24 Supreme version is made in Germany, measures 15.4 inches, and carries a foil-stamped Supreme logo on the red-painted wooden handles. It released February 15, 2024 at $110.
About Freund Victoria
Freund Victoria is a German garden tool manufacturer headquartered in Schorndorf, near Stuttgart, with roots going back to 1898 and the Wilhelm Abt forge that began producing agricultural forks in the Württemberg region. The current company was formed in 1993 when the Schorndorf and Wuppertal operations merged, consolidating the Victoria fork brand and other German long-handled tool makers. Since 2002 Freund Victoria has been part of Austria's Johann Offner Group, one of Europe's largest manufacturers of spades, forks, hoes, and rakes. A new logistics and administration headquarters opened in Schorndorf in 2010. Supreme collaborated with Freund Victoria on a forged-steel garden spade.
