About the original

The JBL L100 Classic is a 12-inch three-way bookshelf loudspeaker that revives the original 1970s L100 design, with a 12-inch pure-pulp cone woofer, a 5.25-inch polymer-coated pulp midrange, and a 1-inch titanium dome tweeter with an acoustic lens waveguide, crossed over at 450 Hz and 3.5 kHz. Sensitivity is 90 dB at 2.83V/1m with a 4-ohm nominal impedance. The cabinet uses a genuine walnut veneer with the signature Quadrex foam grille available in orange, blue, or black. JBL has built loudspeakers in Los Angeles since James Bullough Lansing founded it in 1946. The FW2021 Supreme collab sold as a matched pair in a custom colorway at $6,500.

About JBL

JBL is an American audio company founded on October 1, 1946, by James Bullough Lansing in Los Angeles, California. Lansing, who had previously co-founded Altec Lansing, named the new firm with his initials and released the D130 15-inch transducer as its first original product, a design that remained in production for 55 years. The L100 bookshelf speaker, introduced in 1970, sold over 125,000 pairs and became one of the best-selling loudspeakers in history. JBL is now a Harman subsidiary and produces studio monitors, portable Bluetooth speakers, and headphones. Supreme's JBL collaboration was based on the brand's portable speaker line.
