About the original

The JBL PartyBox Encore Essential 2 is a portable, splash-proof party speaker measuring 12.6 by 13.5 by 10.3 inches, with Bluetooth streaming, an AUX input, a combined guitar and microphone input, and up to 15 hours of playback per charge or continuous power from an AC cable. JBL rates its output at 100 watts RMS, and the stock unit has a light ring behind the grille and a carry handle on top. JBL was founded in Los Angeles in 1946 by James Bullough Lansing and is now part of Harman International, owned by Samsung since 2017. The FW26 Supreme and Martine Rose version wraps the same speaker in a tiger-pattern faux fur casing, with a rubber MRS logo across the grille; the JBL badge stays below it.

About JBL

JBL is an American audio company founded on October 1, 1946, by James Bullough Lansing in Los Angeles, California. Lansing, who had previously co-founded Altec Lansing, named the new firm with his initials and released the D130 15-inch transducer as its first original product, a design that remained in production for 55 years. The L100 bookshelf speaker, introduced in 1970, sold over 125,000 pairs and became one of the best-selling loudspeakers in history. JBL is now a Harman subsidiary and produces studio monitors, portable Bluetooth speakers, and headphones. Supreme's JBL collaboration was based on the brand's portable speaker line.
