About the original
Le Male is Jean Paul Gaultier's signature men's eau de toilette, launched in 1995 in a pressed-tin torso bottle modeled on a male mannequin. The composition, by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian, pairs lavender and mint up top with an oriental base of vanilla, tonka bean, and amber wood; it was one of the first mass-market men's fragrances to foreground a vanilla-heavy drydown and has remained among the best-selling men's fragrances worldwide. Jean Paul Gaultier founded his fashion house in 1976 in Paris and launched his fragrance line with Le Male after the Le Classique women's debut in 1993. The SS2019 Supreme collab uses the same Gaultier-produced juice and torso bottle; the box logo appears only on the outer packaging.
About Jean Paul Gaultier
Jean Paul Gaultier is a French fashion designer born in 1952 in Arcueil who founded his eponymous label in 1976 after stints at Pierre Cardin and Jean Patou. Known as the enfant terrible of French fashion, Gaultier is recognized for his corsetry-inspired designs, sailor stripes, and gender-fluid casting long before it became an industry norm. His Le Male fragrance, launched in 1995, became one of the best-selling men's fragrances in the world and is identified by its pressed-tin torso bottle modeled on a male mannequin.
