Jumpman Composite Leather Basketball
About the original
The Jordan Jumpman basketball is a size 7 (29.5-inch) composite-leather ball with a six-panel deep-channel construction suited to indoor and outdoor play. Jordan Brand launched as the Air Jordan line in 1985, became a Nike subsidiary in 1997, and expanded into team athletics and hard-goods like balls, bags, and sideline gear. The Jumpman silhouette itself is based on a 1984 photograph of Michael Jordan in a balletic grand jeté pose, taken before he signed with Nike. The Supreme FW24 version debosses the Jumpman and Supreme box logos into the pebbled grain; it dropped October 3, 2024 alongside the rest of the Jordan tricot and warm-up collection.
About Jordan
Jordan Brand is an American footwear and apparel subsidiary of Nike, Inc. founded in 1984 around basketball player Michael Jordan, who signed with Nike as a rookie and debuted the Peter Moore-designed Air Jordan 1 that year. Nike spun Jordan off as its own division in 1997, with the Jumpman silhouette, taken from a 1984 LIFE magazine photograph, as its logo. The line has produced numbered models from the Air Jordan 1 through 39, plus the Retro program that reissues archival colorways. Jordan Brand generates over $7 billion in annual revenue. Supreme's Jordan collaborations have included the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 14.
