About the original

Palomar, the Italian design house founded in Bologna in 2007, released the Lucetta in 2014: a pair of magnetic LED bike safety lights designed by Helsinki-based industrial designer Emanuele Pizzolorusso. The lights snap onto any steel bike frame using neodymium magnets, or attach via included silicone straps for aluminum and carbon frames, with three modes (steady, slow flash, fast flash) toggled by tapping a single button. Each unit runs on a CR2032 coin cell, weighs 15 grams, and is rated water-resistant. The Lucetta won the German Design Award Gold in 2015 and was added to the Triennale Design Museum collection in Milan. The FW2018 Supreme version is the standard pair with printed Supreme logos; released October 25, 2018 at $34.

About Palomar

Palomar is an Italian design company founded in 2001 in Florence, Italy. The studio produces what it calls nomadic objects: small, design-driven goods including the Crumpled City map (a tear-resistant, packable city map printed on a lightweight synthetic that crumples into a pouch), magnetic world maps, pin-board globes, and miniature speakers. Palomar collaborates with independent industrial designers across Europe and manufactures in Italy, with products distributed through MoMA Design Store, museum shops, and design retailers worldwide. The company has won Compasso d'Oro and Red Dot recognition for several of its map and lifestyle objects. Supreme collaborated with Palomar on a Crumpled City map of New York.
