KBGV Select Drip Coffee Maker
About the original
The Moccamaster KBGV Select is a 10-cup drip coffee maker hand-assembled in Amerongen, the Netherlands by Technivorm, one of only a handful of home brewers certified by the Specialty Coffee Association for meeting its Golden Cup Standard. A copper boiling element heats water to 196–205°F and pulses it over the grounds through a flow-controlled outlet, filling the 40-ounce glass carafe in four to six minutes. A selector switch adjusts brew and hot-plate parameters for half or full batches, and every machine carries a 5-year warranty. Technivorm has built the Moccamaster family since 1968 to the same basic schematic. The FW22 Supreme version applies co-branded graphics to the black colorway.
About Moccamaster (Technivorm)
Moccamaster is a Dutch drip coffee brewer produced by Technivorm, founded in 1964 by industrial engineer Gerard-Clement Smit, initially in Elst and from 1967 in Amerongen, Netherlands. The company name combines the Dutch words techniek and vormgeving, meaning technique and form. Smit debuted his first filter brewer in 1969 and the original KB 741 Moccamaster in 1976. Each unit is hand-assembled in Amerongen and certified by the Specialty Coffee Association for brewing to the Golden Cup Standard. Over ten million have been sold. Smit died in 2018 at 87. Supreme's collaboration applied a box logo to the Moccamaster KBG Select.
