About the original

The Pilot Super Color Marker Jumbo (SCA-6600) is an oil-based permanent marker with a 3.0-millimeter wide chisel tip, refillable ink reservoir, and a metal body cap — waterproof, alcohol-resistant, and marketed to industrial, shipping, and sign-writing users. Pilot Corporation was founded in 1918 in Tokyo by Ryosuke Namiki and Masao Wada, and introduced its first fountain pens in 1919 before expanding into the oil-marker segment in the 1970s; the Super Color line is now a Japanese-industrial staple stocked in hardware and stationery shops nationwide. The FW2018 Supreme collab is the standard jumbo Super Color Marker with a printed box logo on the barrel. It released November 15, 2018 at $10, two dollars below Pilot's retail.

About Pilot

Pilot is a Japanese pen manufacturer founded in 1918 by Ryosuke Namiki and Masao Wada in Tokyo, Japan, originally as the Namiki Manufacturing Company. Namiki, a former professor at Tokyo Nautical College, set out to produce gold fountain pen nibs domestically. The company opened overseas offices in Boston, London, Singapore, Malaysia, and Shanghai by 1926 and partnered with Alfred Dunhill on maki-e lacquered pens for European markets. Pilot introduced the retractable-nib Capless fountain pen in 1963 and the erasable FriXion gel ink in 2006. Supreme has collaborated with Pilot on a co-branded permanent marker.
