About the original

Simpson Performance Products has manufactured racing helmets in El Monte, California, since 1959, when Bill Simpson sold his first drag-racing parachute and pivoted into safety equipment. Simpson helmets have been worn by drivers at Indianapolis, Daytona, and Le Mans, and remain standard issue across NASCAR and NHRA grids. The Street Bandit is the brand's DOT-approved full-face street helmet, built from a fiberglass composite shell with an integrated chin bar, dual D-ring retention, recessed speaker pockets, and a removable, washable interior liner. It uses the same shell geometry as Simpson's motorsport line, scaled down for street and track-day riders. The Supreme FW16 version is the same lid with box-logo branding.
