Slam Jam Over-The-Door Mini Basketball Hoop
About the original
The Spalding Slam Jam is an over-the-door mini basketball hoop with an 18 by 10.5 inch polycarbonate backboard, a steel breakaway rim, a nylon net, and an included 5 inch rubber ball. Spalding was founded in 1876 in Chicago by former MLB pitcher A.G. Spalding and served as the official ball supplier of the NBA from 1983 through 2021, a 37-year run. The Slam Jam is the company's long-running consumer product built around the hardware of their professional rims. The Supreme FW23 version keeps the same backboard and rim hardware and adds printed box logos to the board and ball.
About Spalding
Spalding is an American sporting goods manufacturer founded in 1876 by Albert Goodwill Spalding and his brother J. Walter Spalding in Chicago. Albert Spalding was a pitcher and co-founder of the National League, and the company supplied the league's official baseball from 1876 to 1976. Spalding also produced the official NBA game ball from 1983 to 2021 and the official WNBA ball for much of that period. Its product line includes basketballs, footballs, volleyballs, and backboards, with the pink Spaldeen rubber ball a longstanding New York street-game fixture. Supreme has collaborated with Spalding on co-branded basketballs and equipment.
