The Starr "X" is the wall-mounted bottle opener Brown Manufacturing Co. has cast in Newport News, Virginia since 1925 — the "Open Here" opener bolted behind bars, in diners, and on garage walls for a century. It's zinc-plated cast iron, mounts with two included screws, and the design hasn't meaningfully changed since the interwar years; Brown still stamps "STARR X … NEWPORT NEWS VA" into the back plate. For FW10 Supreme embossed its box logo across the face, where a beer brand's name would normally sit. The opener underneath is the same casting Brown sells for about fifteen dollars — a fitting object for a logo, since the whole point of a Starr X has always been to carry someone else's advertising.
