Pocket Samurai Keychain Knife
About the original
The StatGear Pocket Samurai is a micro folding knife with a 440C stainless steel tanto blade, a frame-lock mechanism, a skeletonized aluminum or titanium handle, and a keychain loop, weighing under one ounce and closing to about 2.5 inches. The design is a scaled-down take on the traditional Japanese higonokami slip-joint format, repackaged as everyday keyring carry. StatGear was founded in 2011 by a New York City paramedic to design rescue, survival, and EDC tools, and the Pocket Samurai debuted in 2016. Supreme's SS18 version engraves the box logo on the handle scale and retailed at $36 versus the standard $20 aluminum edition.
About StatGear
StatGear is an American tool maker founded in 2010 in New York by Avi Goldstein, a New York City paramedic who designed his first product, the T3 Tactical Auto Rescue Tool, around gaps he observed working as an EMT. The T3 combined a seatbelt cutter, window-breaker spike, and folding blade, and was demonstrated on the Today Show. StatGear has since expanded into everyday-carry knives, including the Pocket Samurai keychain knife, and launched a sister sheath-and-clip company, Clip & Carry, in 2019. Supreme has collaborated with StatGear on a co-branded Pocket Samurai folding knife.
