About the original

The Hasbro Retro G1 Optimus Prime is a 6.25 inch action figure based on the original 1984 Generation 1 design, converting from robot mode into a 13 inch semi-truck with a detachable trailer that transforms into a combat deck and repair bay. Hasbro has produced Transformers in partnership with Japanese toymaker Takara Tomy since 1984, originally adapting Takara's Diaclone and Microman lines for the Western market; the Retro G1 reissue series restores the chromed parts, rubber tires, and cardback deco of the initial run. The Supreme SS25 version adds printed box-logo branding to the trailer and packaging and shipped in a co-branded window box.

About Hasbro (Transformers)

Hasbro is an American toy and entertainment company founded in 1923 by Henry, Hillel, and Herman Hassenfeld in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. The Transformers franchise launched in 1984 as a partnership with Japanese toymaker Takara, repackaging the Diaclone and Microman figure lines as Autobots and Decepticons for the US market. The original toy line ran alongside an animated series and Marvel comic, and was followed by a 1986 animated film and Michael Bay's live-action films beginning in 2007. Hasbro still produces Generation One-style reissues through its Masterpiece and Legacy lines. Supreme's Transformers collaboration drew on the first-generation character designs.
