About the original
Vanson Leathers was founded in 1974 by Mike van der Sleesen and has hand-cut motorcycle jackets in Fall River, Massachusetts since 1987, supplying leathers to AMA road racers and the NYPD Highway Patrol. The SS20 Supreme collab is a coach-cut jacket with a water-resistant Cordura nylon shell — Cordura is a nylon 6,6 fabric originally developed by DuPont in 1929 and now made by Invista — with a full-zip closure, double welt pockets, corduroy-trimmed collar, and a leather Vanson tag at the chest. The body is covered in a scattered print of cut-out letters spelling Supreme across grey, blue, red, and yellow. Released April 9, 2020 in black and red at $568.
About Vanson Leathers
Vanson Leathers is an American motorcycle apparel manufacturer founded in 1974 by Mike van der Sleesen and Jamie Goodson in Boston, Massachusetts. The company's name is a portmanteau of the founders' surnames. Production moved to Fall River in 1987, where it still operates from the Laurel Lake Mill. Vanson made its reputation building racing leathers for Daytona 200 winner Dale Singleton in 1979, and has since outfitted riders including Freddie Spencer, Giacomo Agostini, and Nicky Hayden. Each jacket is cut and sewn by hand, with up to 126 steps per garment. Supreme has collaborated with Vanson on leather jackets and racing suits.
