Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version
Original — The Great Frog
Sterling Silver Wallet Chain
About the original
Y's is Yohji Yamamoto's second line, launched in Tokyo in 1972 and predating the eponymous Yohji Yamamoto main collection, which debuted in Paris in 1981. The wallet chain was made for this release by The Great Frog, a London silversmith founded in 1972 on Carnaby Street by Paterson Riley and run today by his son Reino Lehtonen-Riley. The shop has produced cast-silver jewelry for Motorhead's Lemmy Kilmister, Keith Richards, Slash, and Pearl Jam, and operates a New York location on Mulberry Street. The FW25 piece is a sterling silver wallet chain with cast barbed-wire links and a lobster-clasp terminal, stamped with Y's and Great Frog hallmarks and packaged in a co-branded suede pouch.
About The Great Frog
The Great Frog is a British silver jewelry house founded in 1972 by Paterson Riley and Carol Lehtonen-Riley on Carnaby Street in London. Every piece is hand-cast in sterling silver in the Soho workshop, and the catalog runs heavy on skull rings, signet rings, and skeleton-hand pieces tied to British rock and biker culture. Reino Lehtonen-Riley took over from his father Paterson in 2002 and now runs the brand with workshops in London, Los Angeles, and New York. Clients have included Lemmy of Motorhead, the Rolling Stones, and Metallica. Supreme has collaborated with The Great Frog on cast-silver rings and pendants.
