Supreme vs. Original

About the original
Burberry was founded in 1856 by 21-year-old Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke, England, invented gabardine in 1879, and registered the Equestrian Knight Design as its trademark in 1901. The brand's denim baseball cap is made in Italy from indigo cotton denim with the Equestrian Knight logo at the front and contrast topstitching, retailing through Burberry's own line at roughly $390. The SS22 Supreme collab uses the same Italian-made cotton denim 6-panel construction with a Burberry equestrian knight and London England wordmark embroidered across the front, finished with a debossed leather strap closure. Released March 10, 2022 in four washes (indigo, black, washed black, and stone) at $88, with a matching apparel capsule.
About Burberry
Burberry is a British fashion house founded in 1856 by 21-year-old Thomas Burberry in Basingstoke, Hampshire. In 1879 Burberry invented gabardine, a breathable, water-resistant fabric woven from waterproofed yarn and patented in 1888. The company supplied outerwear to polar explorers including Fridtjof Nansen and Ernest Shackleton, and developed the trench coat for British officers in World War I. The Burberry check, introduced as a coat lining in the 1920s, became one of the most recognized patterns in fashion. The label remains publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange. Supreme collaborated with Burberry on a full collection in 2022.
