About the original

ChapStick Classic is an American lip balm invented by Charles Browne Fleet in Lynchburg, Virginia in the early 1880s and sold continuously since, making it one of the oldest continuously produced consumer products in the United States. The slim rotating tube format was added by John Morton in the 1930s and became the industry standard. The petrolatum-based formula has remained largely unchanged for over a century, and ChapStick is now owned by Haleon after passing through A.H. Robins, Wyeth, Pfizer, and GSK. The SS22 Supreme collab is a three-pack of Classic Cherry tubes with box-logo printing, retailing at $8.

About ChapStick

ChapStick is an American lip balm brand developed in the late 1880s by Charles Browne Fleet, a pharmacist who ran a family pharmacy in Lynchburg, Virginia from 1869. Fleet's original wickless, tin-foil-wrapped product sold poorly locally. In 1912 he sold the formula to John Morton for five dollars; Morton's wife poured the balm into brass tubes and molded it into sticks, and sales expanded nationally. The current waxy-stick format and push-up tube date from that redesign. ChapStick has passed through A.H. Robins, Wyeth, Pfizer, and GSK, and is now owned by Haleon. Supreme released a co-branded ChapStick in 2021.
