About the original

Kangol was founded in Cleator, England in 1938 and has made hats continuously since, becoming a hip-hop staple in the 1980s after LL Cool J made their 504 bucket hat part of his uniform. The Kangol Furgora Cuff Beanie is a knit beanie made from Kangol's proprietary Furgora yarn — a faux-fur blend spun to look and feel like sheared rabbit — with the Kangol kangaroo logo embroidered on the cuff. Supreme's FW25 version swaps the kangaroo for a Supreme script logo on the cuff and is made exclusively for Supreme.

About Kangol

Kangol is a British headwear company founded in 1938 by Jacques Spreiregen in Cleator, Cumbria, with the first factory opened that year alongside his nephew Joseph Meisner. The name combines K from knitting, ANG from angora, and OL from wool. Kangol supplied berets to British armed forces during World War II and to the British Olympic team in 1948 before moving into bucket hats and the 504 flat cap, which became fixtures of 1980s hip-hop on LL Cool J, Run-DMC, and Slick Rick. Bollman Hat Company has owned the brand since 2001. Supreme has collaborated with Kangol on co-branded bucket hats and 504 caps.
