Supreme x Kangol Ventair Logo 504
Supreme vs. Original

Supreme version

About the original
The Kangol Tropic 504 Ventair is a flat cap knit from a 35% modacrylic, 65% polyester Tropic yarn, built on Kangol's original 504 block with a nylon sweatband and the signature perforated Ventair knit pattern around the crown for airflow. Kangol was founded in Cleator, England in 1938 by Jacques Sergene and began producing the 504 shape in 1954, the style numbered after the pattern block it was cut from. The Tropic 504 has been in continuous production since the early 1980s. The Supreme SS22 version is a Tropic 504 knit in purple with a jacquard Supreme logo set into the Ventair pattern on the crown and an embroidered logo on the back. The current Tropic 504 retails for $50 direct from Kangol.
About Kangol
Kangol is a British headwear company founded in 1938 by Jacques Spreiregen in Cleator, Cumbria, with the first factory opened that year alongside his nephew Joseph Meisner. The name combines K from knitting, ANG from angora, and OL from wool. Kangol supplied berets to British armed forces during World War II and to the British Olympic team in 1948 before moving into bucket hats and the 504 flat cap, which became fixtures of 1980s hip-hop on LL Cool J, Run-DMC, and Slick Rick. Bollman Hat Company has owned the brand since 2001. Supreme has collaborated with Kangol on co-branded bucket hats and 504 caps.
