About the original

The Kangol Tropic Ventair Spacecap is a seamless-knit baseball cap built from Kangol's Tropic yarn, a 65% polyester / 35% modacrylic blend with a 100% nylon headband. The ventair mesh weave runs six rows around the base of the crown, creating airflow while retaining shape; the curved brim measures roughly 2 3/4 inches. Kangol was founded by Jakob Henryk Spreiregen in Cleator, Cumbria, England in 1938, and the Tropic line has been in continuous production since the early 1980s. The signature embroidered kangaroo logo sits on the front panel. The SS22 Supreme version is the same Tropic Ventair Spacecap silhouette with a front-panel Supreme logo added on top of the standard kangaroo embroidery.

About Kangol

Kangol is a British headwear company founded in 1938 by Jacques Spreiregen in Cleator, Cumbria, with the first factory opened that year alongside his nephew Joseph Meisner. The name combines K from knitting, ANG from angora, and OL from wool. Kangol supplied berets to British armed forces during World War II and to the British Olympic team in 1948 before moving into bucket hats and the 504 flat cap, which became fixtures of 1980s hip-hop on LL Cool J, Run-DMC, and Slick Rick. Bollman Hat Company has owned the brand since 2001. Supreme has collaborated with Kangol on co-branded bucket hats and 504 caps.
