Aspire 105 Recreational Kayak
About the original
The Wilderness Systems Aspire 105 is a sit-inside recreational kayak measuring 10 feet 6 inches long by 29 inches wide and 15.5 inches deep, rotomolded from high-density polyethylene; it weighs 48 pounds and carries up to 400 pounds. A TruTrak adjustable skeg drops from the hull for straight tracking on flatwater and retracts for maneuverability in current, and the Phase 3 AirPro seat adjusts at the backrest, thigh hooks, and footbraces. Wilderness Systems is a Greensboro, North Carolina brand under Confluence Outdoor, marketing the Aspire to intermediate paddlers moving from pond paddling toward light moving water. The SS22 Supreme version bundles the standard 105 hull with a matched paddle and co-branded graphics; the hull, seat, and skeg are unchanged from the production boat.
About Wilderness Systems
Wilderness Systems is an American kayak manufacturer founded in 1986 by Andy Zimmerman and John Sheppard in High Point, North Carolina. The founders left a furniture business to build fiberglass touring kayaks and shifted to rotomolded plastic boats around 1992, broadening the sport beyond composite-only buyers. North Carolina named the company Entrepreneurial Company of the Year in 1996. Wilderness Systems merged with Mad River Canoe in 1998 and now operates under Confluence Outdoor, with the Tarpon and ATAK fishing kayaks among its core models. Supreme has collaborated with Wilderness Systems on a co-branded kayak.
